Digestive Conditions Welcome Video

Dr. Mansfield
Welcome. Today we are going to explore Digestive Conditions. I'm Dr. Mansfield.

Major Spencer
And I'm Major Spencer. The digestive system includes all the organs involved in breaking down food into a form the body can use for energy to fuel many processes, including growth and cell repair. This process is called digestion.

Dr. Mansfield
Digestive diseases, also known as gastrointestinal diseases, can be acute, meaning they come on suddenly and typically last only a short time, or chronic, meaning they are long-lasting, sometimes lifelong.

Major Spencer
In this program you can learn about each of the organs in the digestive system, how they function, and how acute and chronic diseases or conditions affect them.

Dr. Mansfield
Our specialists -- Dr. Jerman, Dr. Malone, and Dr. Patel -- provide their expertise throughout the program. In addition, we'll introduce you to several patients who share their personal experiences with digestive conditions.
