One key element of recovery from an elbow injury or surgery involves regular exercises to restore normal motion and flexibility. The goal is a gradual return to everyday work and recreational activities. Because many of the muscles involved in the elbow are also involved in the wrist, rehabilitation exercises may include wrist stretching and strengthening.
Early in your recovery, your provider or physical therapist may recommend that you exercise from 10 to 15 minutes, two or three times a day. Make sure that whatever exercises you do have been approved by your provider or physical therapist.
