I was in disbelief when I found out I was pregnant for the first time. I didn’t know what to think.
The giddiest moment of my life. And I was literally shaking, I was so happy.
Really shocked. But I was really excited at the same time because I’d been waiting.
We had been trying for quite a while and I was anxious to become pregnant. But when it actually happened, I was a little bit thrown.
You know I think we both have some nervousness, but I think that’s to be expected.
I couldn’t wait to tell Nick and show him that. So I waited all day with the little secret.
I took the pregnancy test. I waited for it. It was really early in the morning. And I went back to bed and tried to get back to sleep and, of course, I couldn’t sleep a wink.
I think I just said, “We’re going to have … I’m pregnant.” He’s like smiling. But … all he did [was] smile. He’s not very emotional.
He was completely shocked and at first was like, “There’s no way! Are you sure? How accurate is this?” And I’m like, “It’s 99 percent.”
I had been having some funny cravings for things like French fries. I think I sent him to the store and I said, “Hey! When you’re at the store, can you get some waffle fries, curly fries, spicy fries?” And he said, “I think you’re pregnant.” And I’m like, “Ahh! No way!” And sure enough, I was.
I said, “How do you feel about being a daddy?” And he said, “Wow! Just like that?” So he was kind of surprised.
He was just completely in shock. It took him a few hours to actually process it.
I went back to what I had said to Damian when we were pregnant with our first child, which was, “Sit down. I have some news.” So I said, “Sit down. I have some news.” And he goes, “Oh! So you’re pregnant.”
He always wanted to hear the song With Arms Wide Open by Creed.
What he did is he woke me up in the middle of the night and just, was like, “What are we going to name the baby?” He got so excited.
I went home and put the song on the radio. And he was in bed, so he woke up to knowing right away that I was pregnant.
