Real Parents: My Growing Baby, Part 2

The thing about pregnancy is that it’s an amazing thought that you’re growing a life inside of you. But other than that, it’s not the most enjoyable experience of my life.

I gained 60 pounds during my pregnancy and it was all during my last trimester.

I gained approximately 50 pounds during my first pregnancy.

I start running so much out of breath because everything’s pushing on me and everything’s growing so much.

Once he decided to grow bigger that’s when I lost the ability to breathe as freely.

I had a lot of back pain while I was pregnant and just getting so big, so fast was hard.

It just hurt. I remember laying on my side and it just aching so. And then you can’t really lay on your back because everything gets shoved up into your lungs. And it was just uncomfortable.

I just can’t get comfortable.

But it’s a lot of activity. The baby’s up all night. So I feel like I’m trying to push at it, you know. “Let’s settle down a little bit.”

And it does take patience because they move on their own schedule.

There were several occasions where Jonah kicked hard enough that it was visible from the outside. And that was fun because I could share it with other people.

He spent a lot of time just, you know, with his hand on my belly and talking to the baby.

For me, the best part of being pregnant is feeling the baby move and just knowing for sure that there’s a life in you that’s going to be coming out soon.

The best part of pregnancy for me [is] knowing that I have something in me that I’m growing. And that once the baby is born, it’s going to add more blessings to our family and our lives.
