Hello, and welcome to the Women's Health Program!

Lt Col Flemings
Hello, and welcome to the Women's Health program. I’m Dr. Flemings...

Maj Patel
...and I’m Dr. Patel. Did you know that most women experience breast changes at some time, and it’s estimated that approximately one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime? In addition, most women will experience one or more pelvic conditions affecting the uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, ovaries, or bladder. One in four women will have surgery for incontinence or prolapse.

Lt Col Flemings
That’s right, Dr. Patel. In this program, we’ll discuss all these women’s health issues, including an explanation of each condition, its risk factors, and symptoms. We’ll also talk about treatment options for each disease.

Maj Patel
Our women’s health specialists – Dr. Malone and nurse practitioner Major Spencer – will provide their expertise throughout the program. Finally, we’ll introduce you to several patients who share their personal experiences with breast and pelvic diseases.
