Precancerous Cervical Diseases

Precancerous cervical conditions are changes to cervical cells that make it more likely a woman will develop cervical cancer. Precancerous conditions are not yet cancer, but there is a higher chance that these abnormal changes will become cervical cancer if they aren’t treated.

Early detection and treatment of precancerous conditions is key to preventing cervical cancer. That’s why it’s always important to tell your provider if you are experiencing symptoms and to be screened for cervical disease regularly.
